Atlantis condo

Atlantis condo, in full Atlantis Condo Resort Pattaya, is a large resort-style development on Jomtien Second Road. It was built by Blue Sky Group, also known for Grand Florida, Espana Condo Resort and Venetian Signature, and was the group's first resort condominium in Jomtien. Construction was completed at the end of 2015. The site of 11 rai (about 17,600 sq m) holds 5 buildings of 8 storeys with 1,100 units. Atlantis condo in Jomtien, Pattaya is best known for its 2,600 sq m lagoon pool with waterfalls, slides and a decorative sailing ship.

Location

The complex fronts Jomtien Second Road, not far from its junction with Soi Wat Boon, the road that leads out to Sukhumvit Road. Jomtien Beach is about 700 m away on foot along a lane running down to the beach road (roughly 550 m in a straight line), an eight-to-ten-minute walk. A 7-Eleven is a minute from the entrance, Second Road is lined with restaurants, cafés, massage shops and laundries, and Jomtien Night Market is about 1.4 km away. Songthaews (shared pick-up taxis) run along Second Road towards central Pattaya, which is around 10 minutes by car.

The standard Atlantis layout is a one-bedroom apartment of roughly 35–44 sq m. Two-bedroom units of about 70 sq m were created by combining two standard ones. Some apartments face the lagoon and gardens, others the outer side of the complex; because the buildings are low, the typical outlook is the inner courtyard and pool rather than the sea. With five buildings to choose from, distance to the pool, floor level and orientation vary considerably, so it is worth viewing several options.

Who it suits

Atlantis is a family resort format: children can spend the day at the slides and the kids' pool, and the sea is within walking distance. It works for holidays, seasonal stays and letting to holidaymakers – some of the apartments are offered on booking sites as holiday rentals. It is a large and lively community, which matters if you are after a small, quiet building. As in any Thai condominium, up to 49% of the total unit area can be registered in foreign freehold ownership (the foreign quota); the rest is held under the Thai quota or through a company.
