Laguna Bay 2 is a low-rise condominium on Pratumnak Hill, the green residential headland between central Pattaya and Jomtien. Location

The condominium is on Pratumnak Soi 6, in the south-western part of the hill that faces the sea. Dongtan Beach, the tree-shaded stretch at the northern end of Jomtien, is about 500 m away, and the small Yin Yom Beach is closer still, roughly 400 m in a straight line. Pattaya Park Tower is about 450 m from the building and the Big Buddha temple about 900 m. The lanes around Soi 5 and Soi 6 have minimarts, cafés, restaurants and massage shops, while large supermarkets, Walking Street and Bali Hai Pier are a short drive away. Songthaews between Pattaya and Jomtien run along Thappraya Road at the top of the hill.

Many apartments look onto the pool and the inner courtyard or onto the greenery of neighbouring plots, while the upper floors and the roof terrace catch a view of the sea. There are no large family layouts, so the building is geared to one person or a couple.

Laguna Bay 2 is a good fit for a holiday home or a winter base in a quiet, green part of Pattaya with a beach within walking distance. Compact apartments that are easy to run also make it a common choice for owners who let to holidaymakers and long-stay tenants; it is worth asking about the building's house rules on short lets before buying. Families who need two bedrooms or more will find the units too small.
