Wongamat Tower

Wongamat Tower condominium in Wong Amat, Pattaya is a 38-storey residential tower beside Wong Amat Beach in the north of the city; the name is also written Wong Amat Tower. It was designed by architect Mario Kleff, whose project page names Heights Holdings as the developer. Construction began in 2011, the structure was topped out in 2014 and the building was handed over in 2015. The single tower rises 131 m and holds 361 units, with a separate car park building next to it. Condos for sale in Wongamat Tower are now offered on the resale market.

Location

The tower stands on Soi Naklua 16, the lane that runs from Naklua Road to the sea through the whole of Wong Amat. The sand of Wong Amat Beach is about 100 m away in a straight line and roughly 150 m on foot: the building sits just behind the row of low-rise properties on the shore rather than at the water's edge. The neighbourhood is quiet and made up of condominiums and hotels, including Wongamat Garden Beach and Park Beach, with cafes, restaurants and convenience stores close to the entrance. The Sanctuary of Truth is about 1.6 km away by road, while Terminal 21 Pattaya and the Lotus's hypermarket are around 3 km away, so your own transport or a songthaew is useful for trips to the centre.

The tower offers studios, one-bedroom apartments, one-bedroom duplexes and two-bedroom apartments. Sizes run from about 40 sq m for studios to about 92 sq m for two-bedroom units, and the More Property catalogue currently lists units from 43 to 97 sq m. The facade is almost entirely glass, with floor-to-ceiling windows, and the plan of the tower was drawn so that most apartments face the sea and the bay. Units were delivered fully fitted, with built-in kitchens and equipped bathrooms, and on the resale market they are usually offered furnished.

Who it suits

Wongamat Tower suits buyers who want a beach a couple of minutes' walk away, views from a high floor and a relatively recent building in a quiet part of Pattaya. Studios and one-bedroom apartments work well as holiday homes and rental properties, while the two-bedroom units are suited to family living. Those who want nightlife and shopping malls on the doorstep will be better served by Central Pattaya. As a general rule, up to 49 % of the floor area in a Thai condominium can be registered in foreign freehold ownership (the foreign quota), while the rest falls under the Thai quota or is held through a company.
