Laguna Beach resort 2

Laguna Beach Resort 2 is the second complex in the Laguna Beach Resort series that Heights Holdings built in Jomtien. Completed in 2016, it comprises 4 buildings of 8 storeys with 1,100 apartments on a plot of about 13,000 sq m. Laguna Beach Resort 2 condominium in Jomtien, Pattaya follows a resort-in-the-courtyard idea: the buildings are pushed to the edges of the plot, up to 75 m apart, and the space freed in the middle — more than 5,000 sq m — is taken up by pools and gardens.

Location

The complex stands on the corner of Thepprasit Soi 9 and Soi 17, between Thepprasit Road and Jomtien Second Road. Second Road, where songthaews run towards central Pattaya, is about 600 m away and Thepprasit Road about 800 m. It is not beachfront: the developer quoted 700 m to Jomtien Beach, but a map measurement gives about 1 km in a straight line, so many residents go to the sea by motorbike or songthaew. There is a convenience store and a few cafes next to the complex. The Jomtien Night Market on the beach road is roughly 900 m away, the Thepprasit Night Market is under 2 km, and Walking Street is about 3.2 km in a straight line. The neighbouring Laguna Beach Resort 1 and Laguna Beach Resort 3 Maldives are separate projects by the same developer.

Facilities

Pools cover more than 2,500 sq m of the grounds. According to the developer, they include a canal-style lagoon, a large lap pool and two tropical pools with water slides.

Apartments

Laguna Beach Resort 2 has studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments; listings in the More Property catalogue range from 26 to 78 sq m. According to the developer, every unit has a balcony, a European-standard kitchen and bathroom, built-in wardrobes and air conditioning in each room. Most windows look onto the pool courtyard or the surrounding streets. A sea view is the exception: the developer mentions one only for some upper-floor units on the outer side facing Jomtien Beach.

Who it suits

Laguna Beach Resort 2 is chosen for holidays, long winter stays and renting out. Large grounds with several pools, slides and a children's area suit families, and a shop, cafes and a laundry on site mean you can spend weeks here barely leaving the gates. Scale has a downside too: the complex has more than a thousand apartments, and the pools can get busy in high season. Those who want quiet or a short walk to the sea should look at smaller buildings nearer the shoreline. As a general rule in Thailand, up to 49% of the floor area of a condominium may be registered in foreign ownership; the rest is Thai quota or held through a company.
