Laguna Beach Resort 3 Maldives (officially Laguna Beach Resort 3 – The Maldives) is the third and largest of the Laguna Beach Resort developments in Jomtien. It was built by Heights Holdings and completed in 2017: 7 buildings of 8 storeys each on a site of about 25,000 sq m. Sources differ on the number of apartments, quoting between 1,750 and 1,850. Location

The complex sits inland in Jomtien on Thepprasit Soi 9, at the point where Soi 7 of Jomtien Second Road joins it. It is well away from the sea: Jomtien Beach is about 1 km in a straight line, but there is no direct way through, and by the streets it is about 2 km, via Thepprasit Soi 9, Jomtien Second Road and Soi 7. Residents get to the beach by motorbike, taxi or songthaew. Jomtien Second Road, where songthaews run towards central Pattaya, is about 700 m away. Within one to two kilometres are the Jomtien Night Market on the beach road, the Underwater World aquarium, a Makro store and the Thepprasit Night Market. Two other complexes by the same developer, Laguna Beach Resort 1 and Laguna Beach Resort 2, stand nearby; they are separate projects.

The buildings are low and well back from the shore, so the outlook is over the lagoon and gardens or the surrounding neighbourhood rather than the sea. Windows face either the inner courtyard with the pool or the outside of the plot: the first is more scenic, though the pool side is lively during the day.

Who it suits

Laguna Beach Resort 3 Maldives is chosen for holidays and seasonal stays. Families with children value the pools, slides and gated, guarded grounds, while long-stay winter residents like having a resort setting without leaving the city. Small units and a well-known name also keep the complex visible on the rental market. Buyers who want to walk to the sea or look out over the bay will do better closer to the shoreline.
