About the company
The Riviera Group is a privately held Pattaya developer. According to the company, it has been built up since 2010 by founder Winston Gale and his wife Sukanya, who serves as Projects Director. Gale’s first Thai project was The Palm on Wongamat, developed in partnership with Nova Group; under its own Riviera brand the company has since delivered several large towers in Naklua and Jomtien. It is not listed on the stock exchange. Construction finance comes partly from Siam Commercial Bank: in 2016 Pattaya Mail reported a THB 920 million SCB loan for Riviera Wongamat.
The group is a regular at industry awards. Riviera Wongamat was named Best Luxury Condominium at the 2016 Thailand Property Awards, Riviera Monaco took Best Condo Development (Eastern Seaboard) in 2020, the company itself was named Best Developer (Eastern Seaboard) in 2025, and in 2026 Riviera Malibu Residences won the region’s luxury condo category.
What their projects are like
Riviera’s earlier projects are 40-plus-storey towers with hundreds of units, resort-style amenities (multi-level pools, water slides, sky pools) and a high share of studios and one-bedrooms, a format designed to work both as a home and as a rental. Demand was not purely foreign: reports from 2016 put Thai buyers at roughly 60% of the group’s purchasers.
The newer launches carry Californian names — Malibu, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, California — and the formats have widened: Beverly Hills Residences is the group’s first low-rise development. The footprint covers Wongamat (Naklua Soi 16), Jomtien and Na Jomtien, Pratumnak and the Thepprasit area.

What buyers should check
- Completed building or off-plan. Wongamat, Jomtien, Monaco and Ocean Drive are up and running, so you can judge them in person: the state of pools and lifts, how the juristic person is run, the size of the sinking fund. Malibu, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, California and Palm Beach are still under construction — match the payment schedule against actual progress, which the company reports on its website.
- Competition within the building. In projects of 400 to over 1,000 units there are many near-identical studios and one-bedrooms, so on resale or rental you compete with your neighbours. Benchmark price and rent against listings in the same building, not the area as a whole.
- Foreign quota. In buildings popular with foreigners, foreign-quota stock on the resale market can be scarce — confirm the quota status of the specific unit (Foreign or Thai quota) before paying a deposit.
- Similar names. Riviera Wongamat and Riviera Palm Beach Wongamat, Riviera Monaco and Riviera Malibu are different buildings of different vintages. In contracts and resale searches, go by the address.
